Mysuru Amber is a straight talking, satisfying blend of amber and sandalwood. It opens with a crackle of spices, lively and enervating before its slow shift into radiant, golden warmth. A pale shiver of rose hangs in the background; a silkening floral breeze polishing every texture.
Mysuru is a reference to Mysore in India, long famous for its mythical sandalwood. Its unique odour profile, with its mixture of toasted sesame and pliable woods, gels seamlessly with its counterparts, creating a soft focus haze supporting the amber accord.
Ghosts of iconic early 20th century iconic amber fragrances haunt the drydown. There are glimpses of the last breaths of Guerlain’s Shalimar and De Laire's infamous "Mousse de Saxe" accord, which many of the greats were built upon, hovering on the skin.
France Lamb’s interpretation brings the continuing story of amber fragrances into the contemporary with its pitch perfect tone and easy-wearing character. If you’re looking for a fragrance to see you through to the horizon of Spring sun, this one’s for you.
